Amber Dzajkich

Orange & Green Room, Montessori Teacher Intern / After School Club
2nd year at VGM

Hi! My name is Amber Dzajkich, pronounced Zy-kich which looks harder than it sounds! I am so excited to be back at A Village Green Montessori this year! After my first year as an assistant teacher in the Green Room, I decided to delve into Montessori training at the Seton Montessori Institute. Prior to VGM, I was teaching at a KinderCare early childhood education setting while earning my Child Development Associate Certification (CDA).

My love for teaching began in high school when I cared for kids of all ages and then continued as a nanny while working my way through community college. I have always loved working with children and watching the way they explore and learn new things. My strengths include patience, consideration, and empathy.

I grew up in a small town in Southern California with three siblings, an older brother and two younger sisters. I moved to Illinois five years ago to explore new options and fell in love with how different it is from the desert where I grew up. I now live in Vernon Hills with my wonderful boyfriend of four years and our Corgi, Nova.

I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, movies, crafts, and music. I started playing the clarinet in middle school, played the saxophone in a jazz band, and played a bit of piano with my high school drumline which I continued through college.

I’m looking forward to joining the Orange Room alongside Ms. Michelle and crossing over to the Green Room in the afternoons with the Orange Room full-day students. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
