Heather Brett-Giles

Blue Room, Assistant Teacher
2nd year at VGM

Hello! My name is Heather Brett-Giles, and I’m so excited to be returning to A Village Green Montessori this fall! I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Belmont University. I have a plethora of experience working with children over the past 30 years. My favorite thing about working in the education field is the “light bulb moment” when a child suddenly understands or completes a task they have been working on.

While living in Nashville, I was an assistant teacher at a preschool for children with special needs for many years and later coordinated an inclusive classroom, I was also an assistant and a lead teacher at Growing with Grace Preschool in Libertyville for 7 years.

The Montessori method of teaching has piqued my curiosity for quite some time. I believe it to be an environment that I have longed to be in. As I assist Ms. Abbey in the Blue Room, I look forward to learning from her and hopefully will pursue the Montessori Training in the future.

I have two sons, Noah (25) and Luke (17), who I cherish and love spending time with. Noah is a US Marine. He is currently based in North Carolina, and I love visiting him whenever I can! Luke is a junior at LHS. Go Wildcats! I also love to take walks, explore parks, listen to country music, and do yoga.

I’m thrilled to continue this new chapter in my life as a member of the VGM team. I genuinely enjoy nurturing and caring for preschoolers and feel fortunate to work alongside such dedicated and warm-hearted teachers.
