Jocelyne Jamie

Yellow Room, Assistant Teacher
1st year at VGM

Hello! My name is Jocelyne Jaime, and I am very excited to start my first year at Village Green Montessori as an assistant teacher in the Yellow Room.

My experience with the Montessori curriculum began in 2017 when I began working at Old School Montessori in Grayslake for the infant-toddler classroom. Later, I was given the opportunity to work in the 3–6-year-old classroom as an  assistant teacher. Although my time at OSM was cut short due to COVID, I am very grateful! The experience was incredibly rewarding, it made me realize just how much I adore teaching children!

Working with students has truly been the most heartwarming and fulfilling experience. I am a firm believer in children being our future and having the power to change the world. I feel it is up to us to provide them with the best care, compassion, support and resources necessary to succeed. Every student I have had the opportunity of working with has impacted my life greatly and has truly empowered me to keep growing and learning about the value of teaching and  education.

I am currently a full-time student at Northeastern Illinois University. Upon graduation, I plan to attend graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work or School Counseling. In my spare time I enjoy reading and making crafts!

I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things our bright little ones will accomplish each day! I feel so fortunate to be joining the Village Green family, and I am really looking forward to this upcoming school year!
