Natalie Swearingin

Yellow Room Assistant Teacher
10 years with VGM
Hello, my name is Natalie Swearingin. I am very excited to return to the Yellow Room once again as a support teacher to Ms. Kathy.

I am looking forward to helping provide a warm, loving, and nurturing environment for all the children of Village Green. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed teaching at VGM in several roles in the past, including as an assistant teacher and substitute in various classrooms.

I attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in early elementary education (PK-8). I taught first through third grades for eight years in Atlanta, where I enjoyed looping to the next grade level with several classes. This experience helped me gain a true appreciation for the multi-age classroom!

After our family’s move to Libertyville, my daughter attended Village Green Montessori for two years. I chose VGM for Mattie as we knew that Montessori schools focus on child-centered learning and emphasize the child’s intellectual, physical, moral, social, and emotional development. I also knew that Montessori schools help children become independent thinkers with a lifelong love for learning, but little did I know how much I would fall in love with the Village Green Montessori community!

I have two children: Parker is a junior at LHS and Mattie is in 8th grade at Highland Middle School. Personally, I love volunteering as much as possible for my children’s and church’s activities and running. I truly am so excited to be teaching at Village Green Montessori! It’s going to be an awesome year!
