Abbey Olson

Blue Room Lead Teacher and Program Operations Coordinator

14 years at VGM

I feel privileged to be a part of the Village Green staff for my fourteenth school year. I am the lead teacher in the Blue Room working in partnership with Ms. Roxy to give each child the love and guidance they need to blossom. I always strive to provide a nurturing, stimulating environment where a child’s natural sense of wonder can lead to meaningful learning experiences. My mission is to foster a love of learning and self-confidence in each child that will last a lifetime! In addition to teaching, I also serve VGM as the Program Operations Coordinator.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and a certificate in environmental studies. I attended graduate school at National Louis University, where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching and my elementary teaching license. Later, I received my Early Childhood Montessori Teaching Credential from the Seton Montessori Institute, where I was grateful to have studied under experts and leaders in the Montessori field.

My 19-year-old twins, Catcher and Dakota, are VGM alumni. Experiencing Montessori education from both the perspective of a parent and educator inspired my passion for this work. The Village Green community holds a special place in my heart, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to get to know each child and family who walks through our doors.

Some of my favorite pastimes include playing pickleball, going to concerts with my husband, and spoiling my dog, Scout.
