A Village Green Montessori School, located in downtown Libertyville, was founded by resident Ann Phillips. Ann is an experienced Montessori directress certified by the American Montessori Society. She began teaching at Highland Park Montessori (owned by her sister) in 1998. A Village Green Montessori is affiliated with the American Montessori Society, and is registered with the Illinois Department of Education and the Illinois Association of Montessori Schools. The school serves children ages two to six and includes a kindergarten program. Since its founding, the school has graduated over 2,200 alumni who have gone on to continue their educational journeys in the community and beyond.
A Place for Curious Minds
The purpose of A Village Green Montessori is to guide children in becoming creative and capable individuals who are fully aware of themselves, others, and the world around them. Additional goals include developing children’s self-motivation, persistence, concentration, self-discipline, and self-esteem. We have created a school where children can truly be themselves in an atmosphere of freedom and responsibility. A Village Green Montessori is a place where children will come to joyfully discover a love of learning.
