Maya Kosar

Hello! My name is Maya Kosar, and I’m happy to join A Village Green Montessori for my second school year as an assistant teacher in the Yellow Room, nap room, and After School Club.  

I love working with children and am pursuing my Child Development Associate. I also completed the Discovering Montessori course to learn more about Maria Montessori, her method, lessons, and materials. Previously, I worked alongside Ms. Sarah in the Rainbow Room and at her licensed home daycare. I’ve also spent many years babysitting children of all ages.

I have a background in scouting which began in my local Scouts BSA Venturing Crew. During my time there, I completed National Youth Leadership Training and the Kodiak Challenge leadership training. As I got older, I used these skills to mentor younger, newer scouts and began teaching cold-weather camping classes. As an adult, I stayed on as a leader, and I still camp in the snow every January. 

In my free time, I enjoy hiking through the Lake County forest preserves, camping, boating, and listening to live music. I have a dog, Delilah, and a cat, Miss Lady.

I’m excited to support our students this year and guide them on their learning journey!
