Toni Vargas

Hello! My name is Toni Vargas. This will be my fifth year at A Village Green Montessori. After years of working alongside Ms. Abbey in the Blue Room, I’m excited to start a new position as assistant teacher in the Green Room. Prior to teaching at VGM, I taught at another local Montessori school as an assistant teacher.

I completed the Seton Montessori Institute paraprofessional training, and I am currently pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education at Northern Illinois University in the hopes of one day leading a classroom of my very own.  

I grew up in Round Lake Park, the youngest of six children. During high school, I discovered my love for children. Through volunteering at my old grade school, I found myself in the kindergarten class and loving it! Instead of the required twenty hours, I logged over a hundred hours— all in just my first year of high school! Ever since then, I have been passionate about helping young ones learn and grow. It is truly an honor to be a part of setting children up for success.

I live in Round Lake Beach with my husband, my high school sweetheart. In October 2025, we welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby boy named Carter. When I am not at work you might find me hanging out at home with my dogs, cozied up with a good book, or spending time with my little one. 

I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing school environment at Village Green. I am looking forward to getting to know your children and can’t wait to see how they grow!
