Kristin Fein
Orange and Green Room Assistant Teacher
1 year at VGM
Hello, I’m Kristin Fein, and I’m so excited to be joining the team at A Village Green Montessori! I’m looking forward to teaching in the Orange Room morning class and crossing over to the Green Room afternoon class with the full day children.
I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and have lived in many places over the last few decades, including Northern Virginia, New Jersey, Minnesota, and most recently Washington State. I have an undergraduate degree in economics from Northwestern University, and I took coursework at DePaul University to get my teaching certificate in elementary education. I have been working with children for most of my life through teaching preschool, substitute teaching, and volunteering at my children’s schools. Most recently, I worked for five years as a lead teacher in a pre-k class in the Seattle area.
I have always been interested in Montessori education. I attended a Montessori preschool when I was a child and worked at one for a year early in my career. I always enjoy incorporating Montessori activities and practices when I’m working with children, and I’m excited to be at a school where I can be immersed in the Montessori method. One of my favorite aspects of the Montessori approach is the emphasis on fostering independence, and I truly enjoy guiding children towards self-competence.
I live in Libertyville and have two daughters. Elizabeth is a junior at Duke University and Meredith is a junior at Libertyville High School. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, walking, and bird watching at Butler Lake.
