Amber Dzajkich
Green Room Lead Teacher and After School Club Lead
5 years at VGM
Hello! My name is Amber Dzajkich (pronounced Zy-kich—it’s easier than it looks!). I’m excited to return to VGM for my fifth school year and to serve as the Green Room lead teacher, with the support of my wonderful assistants, Ms. Toni and Ms. Lilly. We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
I began my journey at VGM as an assistant in the Green and Orange Rooms. Last year, I co-lead the Green Room while working toward my Early Childhood Montessori Teaching Credential. I’ll be completing my Montessori training soon at the Seton Montessori Institute and am excited to bring everything I’ve learned into the classroom! Prior to Montessori training, I earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.
I grew up in a small town in Southern California with three siblings, an older brother and two younger sisters. I moved to Illinois seven years ago and live in Vernon Hills with my boyfriend of six years and our dog, Nova.
My love for teaching began in high school when I cared for children of all ages and continued as a nanny while attending college. I have a musical background, having played clarinet for 12 years, tenor saxophone for 6 years, and piano for 2 years. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, movies, crafts, and music.
