Jessi Haramis

Hello! My name is Jessi Haramis, and I’m honored to be part of the dedicated team of educators in the Rainbow Room at VGM. Working with the tots is something I truly love, and I feel so fortunate to return for my second year in this joyful, nurturing environment. 

Before joining the Rainbow Room team, I had the opportunity to substitute at VGM, which deepened my appreciation for the Montessori philosophy— even more than when I initially chose it for my own children. That experience affirmed my passion for this method, and I’m excited to continue learning every day in the classroom. I completed the Seton Montessori Institute Assistant Training course, and I look forward to putting the knowledge I’ve gained into practice.

My family’s Montessori journey began at a different school, but nothing compares to the warm, family-like atmosphere we’ve found at VGM. My daughter, Lucy (6), graduated from VGM in the Orange Room and is now thriving in first grade. My son, Mitcho (4), is currently completing his third year in the Orange Room. I’ve watched my own children flourish here, and I’m thrilled to help cultivate a positive, nurturing space where your little ones can thrive too.

Previously, I spent twelve years working as a dental hygienist, where my favorite part of the job was working with children. After taking time off to be with my kids, I’m excited to bring my passion for child-focused, independence-driven learning into the classroom. I live right here in Libertyville, and when I’m not at VGM, you can find me cooking, exploring nature on hikes with my family, or curled up with a good book.
