Bekah Farmakis
Green Room Co-Directress
3 years at VGM
Hello! My name is Bekah Farmakis, and I’m excited to begin my third year at Village Green Montessori. This year, I will be serving as a co-lead teacher in the Green Room. My journey with Montessori education began as a parent, inspired by the incredible growth I observed in my daughter Kenzie during her time as a student in the Blue Room. That experience sparked a deep respect and passion for the Montessori method, which continues to guide my work in the classroom today.
Since joining VGM, I’ve had the opportunity to support children in a variety of ways. I’ve led the Stay and Play toddler program, assisted in several classrooms, and was the Lead Teacher in Rainbow 2 last year. I am currently completing my early childhood Montessori certification through Seton Montessori Institute and feel fortunate to be growing as an educator within such a thoughtful and supportive school community.
Before joining VGM, I spent many years working with young children in my licensed home childcare program and teaching preschool classes with the Libertyville Park District. I’ve also coached competitive swimming and youth soccer. My earlier background was in marketing, but I’ve found my true calling in early childhood education.
I’m a proud mom to three wonderful, extremely busy kids: Nicholas (18), Aubree (12), and Kenzie (5). When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me running, at the barre studio, or cheering on my children at their many activities including football, basketball, baseball, dance, acro, soccer, and swimming.
